RYAN NYE!!!

We hit the ball hard!! And Nye plus Ryan!?!?! were stellar!! We won 7-2 tonight going away to pull within 2 1/2 of Syracuse and have some momentum going into QUAD F night!!!

Hitting, Lovullo and Burton Style!

The Red Barons jumped all over Travis Baptist (0-2) in the 1st inning. Torey Lovullo had a 2 RBI single and Darren Burton got a run home on a fielder's choice in the 2nd. Then in the 4th, Lou Lucca and Billy McMillon singled with 2 outs to set up a 3 run homer by Burton (5) that sealed the deal. Frazier and Flores also had 2 hits each. Wendell and Bobby went a combined 0-9, hopefully they can turn it around for Fanovision!!

ERA DROP ALERTS!!!!

Ryan Nye (4-2) was awesome!! Cole Liniak was the only guy who really had a handle on his delivery, collecting 2 hits. Ken Ryan has started the redefined bullpen's "La Resistance" while pitching 2 scoreless inning to preserve our 41st victory.
Nye 4.94 -----> 4.46
Ryan 7.59 -----> 6.94

Here's Donnie's column on: The American Pasttime

          Baseball has been good to me, Howard...

     People say we are crazy. They cant imagine why we'd spend so much time
and money at the ballpark every night rooting for Fesh and the Red Barons.
Well i cant argue with the fact that we are a little nuts, but there is a
method to are madness, even though its not evident on the surface. Each
club member has his or her own personal reasons for doing what they do,
but I feel there is one underlying theme. That is the love of the game of
Baseball. Its a big part of why I'm there. When everything else in my life
is like a roller coaster, baseball is a constant. Its a suprisingly simple,
yet vastly complex game. It mirrors life in many ways, but it cuts out the
bull. It gives you ups and downs, the expected and unexpected, just like
real life.
But it never lies, what you see is what you get. The whole thing can be
retold in a little boxscore so anyone who wants to know exactly happened
can recreate the game at his leisure.
That is why baseball is pure, and the true American pastime. Its part of
who we are, and it has alot to offer. Nowadays people see these major
leaguers with there huge salaries and ignorant attitudes and they tend
to get disillusioned. They think the game is changing. But just take a
look at these minor league guys. They obviously aren't in it for the money.
They are just having fun and chasing every little boys dream, to make it to
the show.
So let me ask you, are we really so crazy? Is there a better way to
spend $4.50? If there is, I'd like to see it!
